We find inspiration in many
places and from a variety of people. We’ve found some of the most
vibrant and exciting work from relatively unknown (or yet undiscovered)
photographers on national and international photography forums.
Other sources of inspiration involve fashion magazines, photography
magazines and of course, the Internet.
John had built a small studio and had shot his share of family, friends as well as paid portraits but it just did not feel like he was growing in his craft. John came upon a website named One Model Place, joined, got involved in the photographer’s forums and began the process of collaborating with models on a variety of shoots, themes, primarily to develop his skills with lighting. From there, the work has taken on a life of its own.
To shoot fashion or glamour you
need killer concepts, the right model(s) and an outstanding creative
team (makeup, stylist and hairstylist).
At the very root level, Kortney and I are the team. We expand the team to include the model(s), other makeup artists, stylists, hairstylists, lighting assistants, etc. to planned shoots as necessary.
